Security & Data Access
Last updated: October 2026
This page explains, in plain language, exactly what ScaleVerdict can and cannot do with the Meta Ads and Shopify accounts you connect. For the full legal detail, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Meta Ads
ScaleVerdict requests two Meta permissions:
- ads_read — lets ScaleVerdict read your campaigns, ad sets, ads and performance numbers (spend, purchases, revenue) so it can generate KILL / WATCH / KEEP / SCALE decisions and reporting.
- business_management — lets ScaleVerdict see which ad accounts you have access to through a Business Manager. Most real advertiser accounts are set up this way; without this permission, ScaleVerdict would only be able to see ad accounts tied directly to your personal Facebook login.
ScaleVerdict does not request ads_management, the Meta permission required to create, edit, pause, or otherwise change ads. As implemented today, ScaleVerdict cannot create ads, edit ads, pause ads, change budgets, or modify campaigns. It only reads your advertising data and shows you a recommendation — any change to your ads remains something only you can make, directly in Meta.
Shopify
ScaleVerdict requests three Shopify permissions, all read-only:
- read_products — lets ScaleVerdict see your products and variants, so you can enter product costs and ScaleVerdict can calculate profitability.
- read_orders — lets ScaleVerdict see your orders and line items, so it can calculate real store sales and revenue.
- read_inventory — lets ScaleVerdict read inventory levels associated with your products.
As implemented today, ScaleVerdict cannot edit your products, modify inventory, modify orders, issue refunds, fulfill orders, or change any store settings. It only reads the data above.
Data & tokens
When you authorize a connection, Meta or Shopify gives ScaleVerdict an access token for the permissions above. That token is encrypted at rest and used only to retrieve the data you’ve authorized — it is never shared with other workspaces or used for anything outside providing you the service. You can disconnect Meta or Shopify from Connections in the app at any time, which stops ScaleVerdict from syncing new data and removes the stored credential on our side.
Account & data deletion
You can permanently delete your ScaleVerdict account from Settings → Account. This removes any workspace you own and are the sole member of, along with its strategies, saved product costs, and local Shopify/Meta connection records, and stops any active subscription tied to it first. If you own a workspace that has other members, we don’t delete that workspace automatically; resolving ownership first may require contacting support. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
